Hope yall are off to a great start this week. I gotta couple questions… If Monday sucks, what do you do for therapy? Feed the ducks Cheetos on town lake? Or, sit on your rockingchair on the front porch with your shotgun? Perhaps spend some quality time with your pharmaceuticals? Wait, those are all things I do. Well, here’s what we should ALL do TOGETHER…TONIGHT! Come down to Rio Rita say 9pm… have a few beers and listen to some music? Sounds good right!?!?!?
I’m taking a few of my fav 45s, mixin ‘em up, kickin’ back…. you know the drill.
Rio Rita is located 5 blocks east from I35 on East 6th street… look out for the sign…
See if you can make it out tonight. Coworker and buddy Michael Anderson and crew will be playing Carousel Lounge @ 10pm. Carousel Lounge is located at 1110 E. 52nd St. here in
Austin.
To get there…Exit 51st off of I35. Head east on 51st, take an immediate left on Cameron Rd. and another immediate right on 52nd. Look out for the vintage Liquor, Beer, Wine sign. The place is the second lot on the left…. can’t miss it. The building says Carousel Lounge on it
The awaited debut performance of Jeff Miller’s band Wonders of Dust will be Wednesday April 15, 2009 at Headhunters here in Austin, Texas. Headhunters is located downtown on the corner 8th and Red River. On a side note, I’ve had nothing but fun at this venue. In fact I recall daring Sheri House(and old friend of mine) to walk up to Quentin Tarantino and asking him if she could have a bite of his tasty burger. He was pretty nice about.
Okay so Wonders Of Dust are loud, they scream a lot… THEY ARE METAL!!! So join us at Headhunters this coming Wednesday and support Jeff and the rest of the band…
Hey Jacks and Jills,
I been in-an-out of the office today…it gave me a chance to see the whole city getting ready for sxsw…so, I ran up to the balcony and took a quick pick…
Office scooters, LPs, crusty keyboard, cereal bowl, aeron chair, overly designed desk lamp, stack of note pads, empty Shiner bottles hidden behind iMac, hanging SXSW interactive badge, trap door to MCJ catacombs(it’s where we hide the real talent,) ouch a paper cut! … 100K house poster, texas monthly and beirut
This great band from San Diego will be the guest musical act tonight on Last Call with Carson Daly. Be sure to catch them tonight on the show…and if you can wait to watch, you can find them on a couple of MMM’s.
They’ve been in austin a couple of times and will return for SXSW…hope to see you there. Enjoy!
Delta Spirit live on Morning Becomes Eclectic, KCRW
Although N.A.S.A’s Anti debut, The Spirit of Apollo (released on February 17, 2009), prominently features Brazilian funk, it also brings together a diverse group of sounds from across the spectrum of musical genres. They were created when American Sam Spiegel (Squeak) and Brazilian Ze Gonzales (Zegon) came together to create a record. The two met one day at a party, began working together in the studio the next day and spent parts of the next five years recording, mixing and producing the album.
They’ve collaborated with, David Byrne, Lykke Li, Del tha Funkee Homosapien, The Cool Kids and Santigold just to name a few.
